PREMISES AND FACILITIES

“There are three teachers of children: adults,  other children, and their physical environment.” – Loris Malaguzzi

Save and secure

The building where the preschool is located is monitored by the surveillance equipment. The entrance to the building is protected with the entrance door intercom and a security guard.

During the operating hours, access is through security entry only. In the morning, all pupils are welcomed by a responsible member of staff and monitored in the reception area until they are collected by the teacher. On their way out the procedure is the same. The outdoor section of the preschool is screened and the surveillance system provides quality control on both the premises and the reception area.

Indoor care and learning spaces

We strongly believe that the learning environment needs to be planned in the child’s best interest. The learning environment here is architecturally and functionally designed and equipped to support care and education, health and safety, respect for children, creativity and the practice of relationships.

Our indoors setting is organised across four spacious areas each of which is well equipped to bring the world to our fingertips. Each room has easy access to multimedia, technology, books, magazines, film and music for all to enjoy, engage with and learn from.

Learning takes place in small groups and provides an opportunity for teachers’ individual approach while collaborative activities give children a chance to learn how to team-work and interact.

Outdoor play

The outdoor play area is designed with large skylights to provide natural light and is part of the 2000 square meter green area . Visibility across the playground is unobscured.

Our L-shape garden is a safe place to play and learn outdoors, where children can practice Physical Education activities and play games. The door to the premises is equipped with a combination lock, which secures our pupils inside and adds to the general safety at the centre.

  • Our library is equipped with “reading cells” where children who seek some time on their own may enjoy silent reading in a cozy environment. Wide range of books in three languages (English, Czech, Russian) will evoke children’s interest in prose, poetry and drama.

  • We organised “learning corners” where children may discover the astonishing world of natural sciences, design and technology. We are especially happy to own a sand-and-water table which is known to develop children’s creativity and motoric skills.

  • We pay special attention to the artistic education of children. Our preschool runs a comprehensive study programme which allows each child to find his/her own way of artistic expression.

  • Music is taught in a practical way through singing and chanting, dance and play.

  • The outdoor playing area is completely separate and protected from the sun by tall trees. We have a perfect view of the entire playing area, which is bordered by a hedge adjacent to the adjacent Desfour Gardens.

  • The school garden is a safe place for fun and outdoor learning, and kids can play and play. The land gate is equipped with a numerical combination lock that ensures that students stay inside and which increases overall safety in our facility.

  • Thanks to the suitable building, children can stay outside even in bad weather.

Hygiene and cleaning standards
  • All our employees have valid health reports. Before registering their children parents are also asked to bring in a medical report that states that the child is at health to attend the preschool.

  • The premises are kept clean at all times. The entrance to the premises is isolated from the school itself. Children and employees who enter the premises will change their shoes and pass onto the Clean Area wearing clean shoes.

  • Visitors to the Reception Area are asked to put on disposable folio shoes to keep the surroundings clean. Through such a division we minimize the possibility of dust and dirt getting onto the premises and teach the children how to keep hygiene habits.

  • Among other useful habits are: toilet training, washing hands before and after using the toilet, before and after the meals and after playing outdoors, brushing teeth, changing clothes when necessary and other hygiene habits.

  • Children have their own separate toilet with a washing sink designed especially for their needs; the staff uses their own toilet. The potties are disinfected after each use and dried.

  • In case of an illness the parents are asked by the preschool management to keep their children at home until they get well, this applies to the working personnel as well.

  • All the room surfaces and toys are regularly disinfected. The wall paint used at the preschool is cleanable, hygienic and harmless for children.
