Let’s go fly a kite

With a tuppence for paper and strings,
you can have your own set of wings,
with your feet on the ground
you’re a bird in flight
with your fist holding tight
to the string of your kite

Oh, oh, oh
Let’s go fly a kite
up to the highest height
Let’s go fly a kite and
Send it soaring
Up through the atmosphere
Up where the air is clear
Oh, let’s go fly a kite

When you send it flying up there
All at once you’re lighter than air
You can dance on the breeze
Over houses and trees
With your fist holding tight
To the string of your kite.

Oh, oh, oh
Let’s go fly a kite
up to the highest height
LEt’s go fly a kite and
Send it soaring
Up through the atmosphere
Up where the air is clear
Oh, let’s go fly a kite

The three little kittens

The three little kittens, they found their mittens,
And they began to cry,
„Oh, mother dear, see here, see here,
For we have found our mittens.“
„Put on your mittens, you silly kittens,
And you shall have some pie.“
„Purr, purr, purr,
Oh, let us have some pie.“

The three little kittens put on their mittens,
And soon ate up the pie,
„Oh, mother dear, we greatly fear,
That we have soiled our mittens.“
„What, soiled your mittens, you naughty kittens!“
Then they began to sigh,
„Meow, meow, meow,“
Then they began to sigh.

The three little kittens, they washed their mittens,
And hung them out to dry,
„Oh, mother dear, do you not hear,
That we have washed our mittens?“
„What, washed your mittens, then you’re good kittens,
But I smell a rat close by.“
„Meow, meow, meow,
We smell a rat close by.“

Autumn leaves are falling down

Tune: London Bridge

Autumn leaves are falling down, falling down, falling down
Autumn leaves are falling down, down down on the ground.

Students are standing, and holding their arms up high with
Their fingers wiggling like the leaves falling down. Begin to
Crouch down until they are as low as possible.

Rake them up and make a pile, make a pile, make a pile.
Rake them up and make a pile, guaranteed to make you smile.

Students stand up and pretend to rake the leaves. They
Stop raking and sing” guaranteed to make you smile”
While holding their fingers to their lips in a smiling grimace.

Jump into the pile of leaves, pile of leaves, pile of leaves
Jump into the pile of leaves, taking turns if you please.
Students jump up and down. They stop jumping and sing
“taking turns if you please” nice and strong.

Put a leaf in a book, in a book, in a book
Put a leaf in a book, in a few months take a look.
Students bend down, pretend to pick up a leaf and clap
Hands together as if closing the leaf in a book. Everyone
Sings “in a few months, take a look”.

Autumn leaves are falling down, falling down, falling down
Autumn leaves are falling down, down down on the ground.

Students are standing, and holding their arms up high with
Their fingers wiggling like the leaves falling down. Begin to
Crouch down until they are as low as possible

The Pirate song

When I was one, I sucked my thumb,
The day I went to sea.
I climbed aboard a pirate ship
And the Captain said to me:
‘We’re going this way, that way,
Forwards backwards,
Over the Irish Sea.
A bottle of rum to fill my tum
A Pirates’ life for me’.

When I was two, I buckled my shoe,
The day I went to sea.
I climbed aboard a pirate ship
And the Captain said to me:
‘We’re going this way, that way,
Forwards backwards,
Over the Irish Sea.
A bottle of rum to fill my tum
A Pirate’s life for me’.

When I was three, I grazed my knee,
The day I went to sea.
I climbed aboard a pirate ship
And the Captain said to me:
‘We’re going this way, that way,
Forwards backwards,
Over the Irish Sea.
A bottle of rum to fill my tum
A Pirate’s life for me’.

When I was four, I swam ashore,
The day I went to sea.
I climbed aboard a pirate ship
And the Captain said to me:
‘We’re going this way, that way,
Forwards backwards,
Over the Irish Sea.
A bottle of rum to fill my tum
A Pirate’s life for me’.

When I was five, I learned to dive,
The day I went to sea.
I climbed aboard a pirate ship
And the Captain said to me:
‘We’re going this way, that way,
Forwards backwards,
Over the Irish Sea.
A bottle of rum to fill my tum
A Pirate’s life for me’.

When I was six, I gathered sticks,
The day I went to sea.
I climbed aboard a pirate ship
And the Captain said to me:
‘We’re going this way, that way,
Forwards backwards,
Over the Irish Sea.
A bottle of rum to fill my tum
A Pirate’s life for me’.

„Then you shall have no pie.“

Apple pie Song

Tune: „This Old Man“
Apple pie, apple pie,
Please don’t take my apple pie.
You can take away the green grass,
Take away the sky,
Please don’t take my apple pie.

Rainbow Song

Tune: „Twinkle twinkle“
Rainbow, rainbow in the sky
Full of colours my oh my.
Red and orange yellow too
Green and blue and purple, ooooo
Rainbow, rainbow in the sky,
Full of colours, my, oh, my.

Sing a song of sixpence

Sing a song of sixpence,
A pocket full of rye.
Four and twenty blackbirds,
Baked in a pie.

When the pie was opened,
The birds began to sing;
Wasn’t that a dainty dish,
To set before the king?

The king was in his counting house,
Counting out his money;
The queen was in the parlour,
Eating bread and honey.

The maid was in the garden,
Hanging out the clothes,
When down came a blackbird
And pecked off her nose.

The sun is shining warm

Tune: „The Farmer in the Dell“
The sun is shining bright
The sun is shining bright
Oh, how I love the warmth,
The sun is shining bright.

The rain is falling down,
The rain is falling down,
Oh, how I love the sound,
The rain is falling down.

The flowers start to bloom,
The flowers start to bloom,
Oh, how I love the sight,
The flowers start to bloom.

Open shut them

Open shut them
Open shut them
Give a little clap, clap, clap

Open shut them
Open shut them
Lay them on your lap, lap, lap

Creep them creep them
Creep them creep them
Right up to your chin, chin, chin
Open wide your little mouth
But do not let them in, in, inLet’s go fly a kiteLet’s go fly a kiteLet’s go fly a kite

What’s the weather?

Tune: „Clemintine“

What’s the weather, what’s the weather,
What’s the weather, everyone?
Is it cloudy? Is it windy?
Is there rain, or snow, or sun?

The polar bear jumped into the water

Tune: “The Bear Went Over the Mountain”

The polar bear jumped into the water,
The polar bear jumped into the water,
The polar bear jumped into the water
And what do you think he did?

He started to swim around,
He started to swim around,
He started to swim around,

And what do you think he saw?

He saw a great big fish,
He saw a great big fish,
He saw a great big fish

And what do you think he did?

He caught that great big fish,
He caught that great big fish,
He caught that great big fish

And what do you think he did?

He ate the great big fish,
He ate the great big fish,
He ate the great big fish

And what do you think he did?

He climbed up on the snow,
He climbed up on the snow,
He climbed up on the snow

And what do you think he did?

He took a great big nap,
He took a great big nap,
He took a great big nap,
Then what do you think he did?
He jumped into the water,

And they began to cry,
„Oh, mother dear, we sadly fear,
That we have lost our mittens.“
„What! Lost your mittens, you naughty kittens!
Then you shall have no pie.“
„Meow, meow, meow.“
„Then you shall have no pie.“

Roots, trunks, branches, leaves

Roots, trunks, branches, leaves,
Roots, trunks, branches, leaves,
Buds, and fruits, and flowers in the breeze,
Those are the parts of trees!
Head, shoulders, knees, and toes,
No! Trees don’t have those!
They have roots, and trunks,
And branches and some leaves,
Those are the parts of trees!

Trees, trees, trees,
They’re sprouting up from seeds,
Trees, trees are sprouting up from seeds!
See 3 green-tree seeds,
Blowin‘ in the big-big breeze,
3 green trees sprouting up from seeds!

Roots, trunks, branches, leaves,
Roots, trunks, branches, leaves,
Buds, and fruits, and flowers in the breeze,
Those are the parts of trees!
Eyes, ears, mouth, and nose,
No! Trees don’t have those!
They have roots, and trunks,
And branches and some leaves,
Those are the parts of trees!

Trees, trees, trees,
They’re sprouting up from seeds,
Trees, trees are sprouting up from seeds!
See 3 green-tree seeds,
Blowin‘ in the big-big breeze,
3 green trees sprouting up from seeds!

Roots, trunks, branches, leaves,
Roots, trunks, branches, leaves,
Buds, and fruits, and flowers in the breeze,
Those are the parts of trees!
Head, shoulders, knees, and toes,
No! Trees don’t have those!
They have roots, and trunks,
And branches and some leaves,
Those are the parts of trees!

The itsy-bitsy spider

The itsy-bitsy spider
Climbed up the water spout
Down came the rain
And washed the spider out
Out came the sun
And dried up all the rain
And the itsy-bitsy spider
Climbed up the spout again

I Have Horses, Jet Black Horses

hlavou kroutíme jakože ne a přitom dlaněmi zakryjeme oči a pak uši

že odněkud seshora,
ukazováčkama ukazujeme nahoru

padá na ní závora.
zlehka poklepeme na hlavu

Kam koukáš, ty závoro?
pravou rukou se vztyčeným ukazovákem děláme ty, ty, ty

Na tebe, ty bramboro!
oba ukazováčky ukazují dopředu

Kdyby tudy projel vlak,
krouživými pohyby rukou podle boků předvádíme vlak

byl by z tebe bramborák!
tleskáme rukama nataženýma před sebou

Já mám koně, vraný koně

Já mám koně, vraný koně, to jsou koně mí.
Když já jim dám ovsa, oni skáčou hopsa.

Já mám koně, vraný koně, to jsou koně mí.
Když já jim dám obroku, oni skáčou do skoku.

Já mám koně, vraný koně, to jsou koně mí.
Když já jim dám jetele, oni skáčou vesele.

Já mám koně, vraný koně, to jsou koně mí.
Když já jim dám ovsa, oni skáčou hopsa.

Já mám koně, vraný koně, to jsou koně mí.
Když já jim dám obroku, oni skáčou do skoku.

Já mám koně, vraný koně, to jsou koně mí.
Když já jim dám jetele, oni skáčou vesele.

Já mám koně, vraný koně, to jsou koně mí.

Snowflakes, Snowflakes

Tune: „Sailing, Sailing“

Snowflakes, Snowflakes
Falling to the ground.
They always fall so gently
They never make a sound.
Snowflakes, Snowflakes
Are so pure and white.
The special thing about them is
No two are alike.

Punchinello

What can you do,
Punchinello, funny fellow?
What can you do,
Punchinello, funny you?

We can do it, too,
Punchinello, funny fellow,
We can do it, too,
Punchinello, funny you!

You choose one of us,
Punchinello, funny fellow,
You choose one of us,
Punchinello, funny you!

Next time won’t you sing with me

A tisket, a tasket, a green and yellow basket
A-tisket a-tasket
A green and yellow basket
I wrote a letter to my love
And on the way I dropped it
I dropped it, I dropped it
Yes, on the way I dropped it
A little (girl, boy) picked it up
And put it in (her, his) basket.

Down by the station

Early in the morning
See the little pufferbellies
All in a row
See the station master
Turn the little handle
Chug chug puff puff
Off they go

Down by the station
Early in the morning
Climb on aboard
And hear the whistle blow
Mr. Conductor
Please take my ticket
Chug chug puff puff
Off they go

Hello to all the Children of the world

Hello, bonjour, buenos dias
Good day, gutentag, konichiwa
Ciao, shalom, dobry den
Hello to all the children of the world

We live in different places
From all around the world
We speak in many different ways
Though some things might be different
We’re children all the same
And we all like to sing and play

Hello, bonjour, buenos dias
Good day, guten tag, konichiwa
Ciao, shalom, dobry den
Hello to all the children of the world

There’s children in the deserts
And children in the town
And children who live by the sea
If we could meet each other
To run and sing and play
Then what good friends we all could be

Hello, bonjour, buenos dias
Good day, guten tag, konichiwa
Ciao, shalom, dobry den
Hello to all the children of the world

Row, row, row your boat

Row, row, row your boat
Gently down the stream
Merrily merrily, merrily, merrily
Life is but a dream
